How to examine the central nervous system of speech

The motor speech center is located in the posterior part of the inferior frontal gyrus in the left frontal lobe and governs speech movements. The motor language center can be examined by having the patient read a newspaper or a book to check for fluency or clarity of speech, and then having a conversation with the patient to see the continuity of the patient’s verbal organization of thought. The sensory language center, located mainly in the posterior superior temporal gyrus, is the sensory language center. During the examination, you can talk to the patient to find out whether the patient can understand what is said and whether he or she can converse and respond correctly. The naming language center is located in the posterior part of the inferior temporal gyrus, and the patient is asked to name a pen or key. When the naming language center is damaged, the patient can only express what the pen and key are used for, but cannot clearly name them.
