High cardiac enzymes in babies may be due to physiological or pathological reasons. Physiological can be recovered in 3~7 days, while the recovery time for pathological is not generalizable and depends on the baby’s own condition.
1. Physiological increase: baby cardiac enzymes may be caused by excessive exercise, lack of sleep and other causes of transient cardiac enzymes increase, generally do not need special treatment, maintain a good night’s sleep, in 3 ~ 7 days after the return to normal.
2. Pathologic increase.
(1) myocardial injury: such as viral myocarditis caused by high myocardial enzymes in babies, diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, fever, excessive sweating, pallor, fatigue and other symptoms. Generally after active treatment, it can be lowered in 10 days~1 month, but it depends on the baby’s condition, if the baby’s condition is serious, it may take a longer time.
(2) Ischemia, hypoxia: ischemia and hypoxia will cause the baby’s cardiac enzymes to rise, need to give appropriate treatment to improve the ischemia, hypoxia, cardiac enzymes will gradually return to normal, usually in about 1 week can be restored, but the specific time has individual variability.
(3) Fever with obvious chills: chills are caused by severe skeletal muscle tremor, due to muscle tremor, a large number of enzymes in the skeletal muscle release caused by cardiac enzymes increase, usually a transient increase, when the chills disappear, cardiac enzymes can be quickly returned to normal, the specific time also varies from person to person.
It is recommended to take your baby to a regular hospital for examination to clarify the cause of the increased cardiac enzymes, and actively treat the condition under the doctor’s guidance for early recovery.
