What if the toothache is accompanied by a fever?

Toothache with fever is usually caused by periodontal abscess or pericoronitis. It can be treated by subgingival debridement or anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial treatment as follows.
1. Subgingival debridement: Severe periodontal abscess will cause fever. After abscess formation, incise the abscess, drain the pus well, flush the abscess cavity thoroughly, and then perform thorough subgingival debridement, and after the symptoms of periodontal abscess are relieved, the fever will gradually subside.
2. Anti-inflammatory and antibacterial treatment: the attack of pericoronitis also has the possibility of fever, with 1% ~ 3% hydrogen peroxide solution to the gingival pocket for repeated rinsing, until the overflow of liquid clear, and then iodine glycerin into the gingival pocket. If the systemic symptoms are severe, antimicrobial drugs or systemic supportive therapy, such as metronidazole and tinidazole, can be used. Medications should be used under medical supervision.
If the toothache is severe or the fever does not go down, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time.
