A good dental implantologist needs not only strong surgical and restorative skills, but also sufficient knowledge of periodontics and aesthetics, which is a challenge for most beginners. Moreover, the heavy clinical workload makes it difficult for most clinicians to read and study. Therefore, many doctors who are new to implant treatment are faced with an incomplete body of knowledge and a blind spot of knowledge on many issues, thus making unnecessary mistakes in their clinical work. From 2009 to 2010, I received a scholarship from the International Society of Implantology to the Advanced Dental Treatment Center of the University of Hong Kong for oral implantology and periodontal specialty training, and I also had the opportunity to go to the Harvard School of Dentistry in the United States for clinical exchange. During this period, the most helpful thing for me was to attend the clinical postgraduate course taught by Prof. Niklaus P. Lang, which provided me with a comprehensive and systematic training as an oral implantologist and periodontist in the West. During the course of my study, I was surprised to learn that the answers to some of the questions we were often confused about could be found in the vast academic literature. With this aim, we hope to provide simple and straightforward information about dental implants, so that the majority of doctors can receive sufficient training before starting their work, “plan before you act”, and abandon the usual pattern of learning from clinical lessons, after all, implant treatment is expensive, patients’ demands are also After all, implant treatment is expensive, patients are becoming more and more demanding, and awareness of their rights is growing. The authors of this book have not only presented a large amount of medical records, but have also conducted an extensive literature review, so that both beginners and doctors with some experience will be able to learn what you need to know. For the imaging material, it is more visual and easy to understand. For some of the more abstract content, it requires careful study to master. Due to the shortage of time, there are inevitably errors in the book, and the language is not beautiful enough, I hope the readers will understand and give criticism and correction.
