The risk of breast cancer recurrence is mainly related to the stage of the patient’s disease and the molecular typing of the tumor.
Breast cancer is a common malignant tumor in the breast area, originating from breast epithelial cells.
1. According to the stage of disease
In the early stage of the disease, the lesion is limited, and the patient usually does not have infiltration around the lesion and metastasis to distant organs. In this case, if the lesion is diagnosed and aggressively treated with surgery, it is possible to cure the lesion. The patient’s chances of recurrence after surgery are then very low, and there is even no recurrence of the lesion.
If the patient enters the middle or late stage of the disease, even if no clear metastatic lesions are found through auxiliary examinations, metastases that are not visible to the naked eye may occur. In this case, although the lesion can also be completely removed by radical surgery, and the surrounding lymph nodes will also be cleared. However, the chances of recurrence and metastasis after surgery are relatively higher.
2. According to molecular typing
According to molecular typing, the disease can be categorized into LminalA, LminalB, Her-2-positive and triple-negative types, among which the risk of recurrence is relatively low for LminalA type and relatively high for other types.
In order to ensure that patients have a good postoperative outcome, it is important to pay attention to regular review. Through ultrasound, molybdenum target, tumor markers and other examination items, monitor the patient’s physical condition. If there are signs of lesion recurrence and metastasis, diagnose the condition and treat it actively.
