Can fibroids be expelled with menstruation

Fibroids do not pass out with menstruation. There are three types of fibroids depending on their relationship to the uterus, such as submucosal fibroids, interstitial fibroids, and subplasmal fibroids. Submucosal fibroids mainly lead to the uterine cavity and can cause increased menstrual flow, prolonged periods, and irregular vaginal bleeding. Because of uterine contraction, submucosal fibroids may prolapse outside the cervical opening or even outside the vaginal opening, but they are not expelled from the body with menstruation. For submucosal fibroids, the preferred treatment is hysteroscopic myomectomy, which is specific to the size of the fibroids. If the fibroids are too large, laparoscopic myomectomy can be considered. This procedure has a quick postoperative recovery and allows menstruation to return to normal and the uterus to repair relatively quickly.
