Hepatitis B 3-series findings are positive for items 2, 4, and 5, which are hepatitis B surface antibody, hepatitis B E antibody, and hepatitis B core antibody, respectively. These 3 antibodies are produced by the body’s immune system and do not come from the hepatitis B virus, so this condition is not a sign that the hepatitis B virus is infecting a person. If it is a sign of an infected person, some components of the hepatitis B virus must be detected in the blood circulation, most likely the surface antigen of hepatitis B. The 2, 4, and 5 positives of the 3 series of hepatitis B do not include the surface antigen of hepatitis B. Therefore, in this case, the 2, 4, and 5 positives usually appear only after the body has cleared the hepatitis B virus after having previously been infected with the virus, that is, after it has been cured. However, there are rare cases where, although 2, 4, 5 positive, there is still viral replication, and a highly sensitive quantification of hepatitis B virus DNA can be perfected. If the DNA of the hepatitis B virus is also not detected, the case of being infected by the hepatitis B virus can be ruled out.
