Solid Punch Tang is a traditional Chinese medicine formula which has the effect of fixing the Chong and taking in blood, in addition to benefiting Qi and strengthening the spleen. This formula is used for treating weak spleen and kidneys, and the syndrome of non-solidification of the flushing vein, which is characterized by hematochezia or excessive menstruation, or more than one leakage of blood, with pale color and thin texture, palpitation and shortness of breath, fatigue (mental exhaustion and physical weakness), lumbar and knee soreness and weakness, with a pale tongue and a weak pulse. In this formula, Atractylodes macrocephala is used to replenish qi and strengthen the spleen with Astragalus, so as to make qi strong and take in blood; the liver and kidney are sufficient to regulate the Chong Ren; therefore, Cornus officinalis and Paeonia lactiflora tonify the liver and kidney in order to regulate the Chong Ren and to nourish blood and astringent yin; calcined keel bone, calcined oyster, palmarosa charcoal, and Wu Bei Zi are specializing in astringent and astringent to increase the power of stopping bleeding; cuttlebone, and Cimicifuga eliminate stasis and stop bleeding, so as to make blood stop and not to leave stasis. The combination of all the medicines together play the function of benefiting qi, strengthening the spleen and stopping bleeding by fixing the flush. Chong is the sea of blood, hemorrhage is the emptiness of the Chong vein, and this formula has the function of fixing Chong to take in blood, so it is crowned with “fixing Chong”.
