Children’s lower lip mucous gland cysts are generally selected for surgical excision, or the cystic fluid can be pumped out, tincture of iodine injection to destroy the cystic cavity, as follows.
1. Surgical excision: the most commonly used treatment is surgical excision, under local anesthesia, make an incision on the surface of the cyst, after exposing the cyst, remove the cyst along the peritoneum, and remove the neighboring lip glands together, and then apply pressure bandage.
2. Injection of tincture of iodine: after exhausting the cystic fluid, inject 2% tincture of iodine 0.2~0.5 ml into the cystic cavity, and then withdraw the tincture of iodine after staying for 2~3 minutes, it can destroy the epithelial cells and make them lose secretion function, so that they can’t form the cysts again. However, this method is rarely used.
