Whether a powdery tumor requires surgery is not primarily a matter of size, but of symptom presentation. If the powdery tumor is repeatedly inflamed, infected, or suppurating, it is best to undergo surgery in a timely manner after the inflammation is controlled. Even if the powdery tumor grows to an unusually large size of 5-6 cm or even 10 cm, it can be left untreated if there are no other symptoms and if it does not appear on the head or face, does not affect the aesthetic appearance, and does not produce symptoms of pressure. If the acne is only a few millimeters in size but continues to grow, with recurring infections and pain, surgery is needed as soon as possible. Of course, surgery is the only cure for the larger ones.
