After 12 years of adenomyosis, 38-year-old almost gave up treatment

Adenomyosis, known as “the cancer that does not die”, why is called this name, because adenomyosis is benign, does not bring a threat to life, but menstrual pain and other symptoms, but the torture of people worse than death, adenomyosis belongs to the gynecology of the difficult disease, many adenomyosis patients, and even because of adenomyosis, removed the uterus. Hunan Loudi’s Ms. Liu, 38 years old, adenomyosis has been 12 years, 12 years ago after childbirth six months after the return of menstruation, dysmenorrhea symptoms, found adenomyosis. At first, the pain was tolerable, so she did not do much treatment. Later, the symptoms became more and more obvious, so I started to travel around for treatment. Over the past 12 years, I went to all the hospitals in Beijing, Shanghai, Hunan and other places. The problem of adenomyosis is still not solved, and the symptoms are still there, so time and time again, in order to treat adenomyosis back and forth, again and again full of hope, and again and again disappointed, long-term such torment, so that Ms. Liu is physically and mentally exhausted. In the last five years, she said she was in a state of giving up on treatment, and when she was in pain, she took painkillers to relieve it. Because adenomyosis is a progressive aggravation of the disease, so as time gets longer, various symptoms will become more and more obvious, and the pain symptoms become more and more severe. In order to relieve the pain, the dose of painkillers was increasing, and slowly the oral painkillers did not work for them, and then they were replaced by anal plugs, and later, the anal plugs of painkillers did not work either. Finally, she came to our hospital to remove all the adenomyosis lesions and preserve the uterus. After Ms. Liu came to our hospital, the ultrasound showed that the size of the uterus was 80x85x78mm, the whole uterus was a sphere, and the uterus was obviously enlarged, while the normal size of the uterus was as big as a small mango. The reason for such a large uterus is that the endometrial glands and mesenchyme invade the myometrium, in other words, the endometrium has run away to other places. Some of the adenomyosis patients who come to the clinic have anxiety, which is understandable. After all, the symptoms of menstrual pain, heavy periods and anemia once a month can make people feel very tired physically and psychologically. Some patients have even told me that it is very difficult to get to their menstrual period every month, and they feel like they are being tortured, fearing that the pain will come as promised. After adenomyosis preservation, removing all the lesions and preserving the uterus, these symptoms are no longer present. Of course, not all patients with adenomyosis need surgery. The choice of the procedure depends on a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s age, symptoms, fertility needs, etc.
