Is tuberculosis a lung infection?

Tuberculosis is not a lung infection. Tuberculosis is a respiratory infection that causes a series of symptoms in the lungs, such as low fever in the afternoon, night sweats, hemoptysis, cough, sputum, fatigue, and loss of appetite. In contrast, lung infections are mainly due to bacteria or viruses, resulting in acute inflammatory changes in the lungs, and clinical manifestations can also include coughing and sputum. Tuberculosis is mainly treated with standardized long-term anti-tuberculosis therapy for 6-9 months, while lung infection is mainly treated with different treatment plans for different pathogens, such as oral anti-inflammatory drugs for bacterial infections and antiviral therapy for viral infections.
