How the monkeypox virus is transmitted

Monkeypox virus is transmitted through blood and body fluids, droplet transmission, shedding of scabs, and contact with virus-contaminated objects. 1. Transmission by blood and body fluids: Monkeypox virus may be transmitted through blood and body fluids when humans are bitten by infected animals, or when they are in direct contact with the blood or body fluids of infected animals. 2. Droplet transmission: Generally large particles droplets, the transmission distance is one to two meters. Therefore, when a person is in close contact with a monkeypox infected person for a long period of time, in close proximity, face to face, the large amount of droplets containing the virus may be transmitted through the respiratory tract. This is the main way to transmit monkeypox from person to person. 3. Shedding scabs: After the infected person heals, the shedding scabs may also carry monkeypox virus, and become fine dust which can be inhaled by others and cause infection. 4. Contact with virus-contaminated objects: direct contact with virus-contaminated objects of an infected person, such as clothes, bedding, towels, etc., can also transmit the monkeypox virus.
