Stage 2a breast cancer has the possibility of cure. Stage 2a breast cancer means that the size of tumor is between 2cm~5cm, no distant metastasis and no lymph node infiltration, or the size of tumor is 2cm and below, with 1-3 metastases in ipsilateral lymph nodes and no distant metastasis. Clinical data show that after timely and effective treatment, the complete cure rate of stage 2a breast cancer can reach more than 70%, and the 5-year survival rate is more than 80%. Therefore, stage 2a breast cancer has the possibility of cure. Surgical resection is the mainstay of treatment for stage 2a breast cancer, and chemotherapy is needed for stage 2a regardless of whether it is high-risk or not, in addition to considering whether targeted therapy is needed according to the pathological results. Endocrine therapy is also an option if the patient is estrogen receptor-positive (meaning that the data signals received from estrogen for tumor cell growth and development). If diagnosed with stage 2a breast cancer, patients should keep a good mindset, listen to the doctor’s advice, and actively cooperate with the doctor’s treatment plan, which can improve the cure rate to a certain extent.
