Are children blinking frequently because of “conjunctivitis”? What are the causes?

After using eye medication for a while, she found that the symptoms did not subside and later heard that the child should go to a pediatrician. The child was finally told by the pediatrician that he had “Tourette’s Syndrome”, and after medication and behavioral treatment, the child’s condition was finally brought under control. Tic disorder, also known as “tic disorder,” is a common neuropsychiatric disorder that begins in childhood and is significantly more common in males than females. Among all age groups, elementary school students have the highest incidence rate, with about 1 to 2 children with tic disorder per 100 elementary school students in the Wenzhou area. The initial symptoms of tic disorder can be blinking, nasal twitching, pharyngeal vocalization, etc. Most children have been misdiagnosed as “conjunctivitis”, “rhinitis”, “pharyngitis “conjunctivitis,” “rhinitis,” “pharyngitis,” etc., and some children never seek medical attention because their parents see their behavior as a bad habit. About half of the children are not properly diagnosed until 1 year after the onset of the disorder. In addition to the above symptoms, children with Tourette’s syndrome can also exhibit: shrugging their shoulders, nuzzling, making strange faces, opening their mouths, shaking their heads, throwing their hands, kicking their legs, etc. These varied movements have one common characteristic: they are involuntary, aimless, rapid, and stereotyped. The twitchy parts change frequently, and the movements vary from time to time, sometimes for better or worse. They may increase when the child is tense, anxious, angry, frightened, excited, or tired, and may temporarily decrease when the child is focused, relaxed, or emotionally stable. What causes children to suffer from this disease? 1, genetic factors: the probability of the parents of the child suffering from this disease is higher than the general population, and some families may have several cousins with the disease. 2, social environment factors: electronic products (such as tablet computers, smart phones, television) overuse stimulation, poor family atmosphere, domestic violence, parental disharmony, improper education, etc. 3, dietary factors: caffeine, sweeteners, food coloring, additives, beverages, Western-style fast food, puffed food, creamy food, etc. may aggravate tic symptoms. 4, neurological factors: neurotransmitter balance disorders. Some children with mild symptoms will disappear on their own after adolescence without treatment; most of them will be under control in 6 months to 1 year as long as they are detected early and the correct treatment is adhered to; there are some children who still cannot get satisfactory results even after treatment, and their symptoms will continue into adulthood. 1, usually pay attention to reasonable parenting, not arrogant, not harsh. 2, life should be regular, do not eat before bed, drink tea, not to eat chocolate and other foods that make the brain excited. 3, do not drink excitatory, stimulating drinks. 4, parents can not arbitrarily reduce or stop medication. 5.Care and love the child, patiently explain the condition, give comfort and encouragement, do not exert mental pressure, do not scold and humiliate, or corporal punishment, try to go to school normally, to avoid inferiority complex. 6, the diet should be light and healthy, should not eat spicy food, barbecue food, puffed food, fat, sweet and thick, cold drinks, food additives, caffeine, foreign fast food, etc.. 7, do not watch nervous, thrilling, exciting film and television programs, should not watch television for a long time, play computer and games. 8, psychotherapy: in the medication at the same time, need to stabilize the child’s emotions, parents should not exert pressure on the child, patient persuasion, less scolding.
