What’s wrong with a dry, hoarse throat?

A dry and hoarse voice often occurs when one eats too much irritating food, drinks little water, or suffers from laryngitis. Physiological factors are mainly related to eating too much stimulating food, drinking less water, dry air, or due to prolonged crying, loud hissing and other factors. This will lead to inflammatory congestion of the pharyngeal mucosa and reduced secretion, swelling of the vocal cords triggered by dry and hoarse voice. Pathologic factors are mainly related to infectious diseases such as pharyngitis and tonsillitis, and may also be related to specific infections or some occupational lesions such as laryngeal cancer. Patients with dry and hoarse voice should actively go to the hospital for laboratory, imaging and electronic laryngoscopy and other related examinations to diagnose the type of disease and then standardize the treatment according to the doctor’s instructions.
