Porcelain teeth can be categorized into base metal and precious metal due to the different metal materials used to make the underlying crowns. Base metal porcelain teeth due to its underlying crown of metal alloy biocompatibility is not ideal, corrosion resistance is relatively poor, metal ions free and stained in the cervical edge of the gingival tissues will cause some patients with porcelain teeth neck black line, thus affecting aesthetics. The base crown of precious metal porcelain teeth is cast by gold-platinum-palladium alloy, which is rich in gold, has good biocompatibility and strong corrosion resistance, and can effectively avoid the phenomenon of patients’ allergy and black line at the neck edge of porcelain teeth, which is recognized by the international community as the most ideal alloy-based oral materials. Meanwhile, its clinical indications are the same as those of base metal porcelain teeth, and it has the trend of gradually replacing base metal porcelain teeth in developed countries.
