The incidence of radiculomyelitis is relatively small, with a documented rate of 1.38%, and the incidence is almost zero after the use of analog positioning machines. Radiation myelitis is a serious complication of tumor radiation therapy in clinic, mostly seen after radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma, esophageal carcinoma, thyroid carcinoma, mediastinal tumors, and spinal tumors, in which the patients may show the manifestation of spinal cord injury. With the improvement of radiotherapy equipment, it has been rare after the use of analog positioning machines. There are also rare cases caused by ionizing radiation exceeding the tolerance range of the spinal cord due to the leakage of radioactive sources from industrial accidents and so on. In the event of radiculomyelitis, it is important to immediately stop radiation therapy or isolate the radioactive damage, seek prompt medical attention and active treatment under the guidance of a doctor to avoid delaying the condition and causing serious consequences.
