There are eight principles for seeking medical treatment after a stroke: early medical care and specialist treatment. 1. Seek medical attention early After finding the early signs of stroke, seek medical treatment at the hospital at the first time. This will only delay the diagnosis and treatment and will not benefit the patient in any way. Even at night, it is important to see the emergency room and get to the hospital as soon as possible, rather than delaying until the next day. Stroke treatment emphasizes the timing of the visit. Irreversible changes in normal brain tissue may occur after 3 hours of ischemia, and necrosis of ischemic brain cells after 6 hours. If a patient with a cerebral infarction is treated with clot lysis within 3-6 hours, it is possible to restore oxygen and blood supply and thus restore full or partial function before complete infarction of brain cells occurs. This is currently the only proven treatment option. All patients suspected of having a stroke should be seen as soon as possible after the onset of the disease in a hospital that is equipped to treat them well. Patients with cerebral hemorrhage should be treated as early as possible to prevent the condition from worsening and missing surgery and other treatments. After a stroke, you should choose a hospital that provides early diagnosis, early vascular assessment and early treatment by a professional neurologist. The hospital should be able to provide round-the-clock CT examination, magnetic resonance imaging and cerebral angiography equipment, and have specialized neurosurgeons and radiologists. In the existing situation in China, the neurology department of a tertiary hospital should be the first choice.
