The drug of choice for pediatric convulsions

In pediatric convulsions, the first choice is to use benzodiazepine fast antispasmodic drugs, such as diazepam, which can quickly relieve convulsions in children. Diazepam is mainly given intravenously and most of the convulsions can be stopped in about 2-3 minutes after application to children. Midazolam can be given intravenously or intramuscularly, and benzodiazepines can be given to children with good results. However, when giving benzodiazepines to children, it is important to pay attention to the dosage of the drug and to monitor the number of breaths to prevent severe respiratory depression in children.
