Is bronchiectasis serious?

The severity of bronchial dilatation is related to the extent of dilatation; the greater the extent of bronchial dilatation, the greater the degree of dilatation and the more severe the condition. Bronchial dilatation refers to the destruction of bronchial walls and cartilage structures caused by various diseases, and the bronchial tubes become morphologically dilated. Mild bronchial dilatation usually has no typical symptoms or manifests as a mild cough, which does not affect the patient’s daily life, but it cannot be ignored and should be treated actively to avoid aggravation. Severe bronchiectasis can be characterized by coughing, coughing up large amounts of purulent sputum, frequent hemoptysis and dyspnea, and further aggravation of the condition can lead to lung failure and even endanger the patient’s life. At present, there is no clinical method to cure bronchiectasis completely, so it is recommended that patients pay attention to keeping warm and avoiding colds to avoid aggravation of the disease. The diet should be light and easy to digest, with less spicy and stimulating food.
