What medicine to take for pediatric jaundice

Pediatric jaundice can be treated with techniques such as light therapy and blood exchange therapy. Jaundice can also be treated with medications. So, what medications are taken for pediatric jaundice? We will introduce the next two aspects of Chinese medicine and Western medicine. 1, Chinese medicine: children with fever, irritability, crying, thirst, vomiting, yellow urine, constipation and other symptoms of pediatric jaundice can be treated with Chinese medicine such as Yin Chen, gardenia, rhubarb, scutellaria, psyllium, bamboo rhizome and Chen Pi. For children with jaundice with high fever, irritability and shortness of breath, convulsions, coma, and gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea, Chinese herbal medicines such as An Gong Niu Huang Wan and Zi Xue Dan can be administered; tonics such as water hyacinth, gypsum, fried gardenia, Huang Lian, Yin Chen, calamus, rhubarb and hooked vine can be taken with water. If the child with pediatric jaundice has fainted, a decoction of inoceramus, gardenia, rhubarb and licorice can be used to retain the enema once a day. 2.Western medicine: glucose and alkaline solution: glucose can supply heat to jaundiced babies, nourish the heart, liver, brain and other important organs, and reduce metabolic acidosis. Plasma or albumin: supplying albumin linked with bilirubin can reduce free unconjugated bilirubin and prevent bilirubin encephalopathy. Enzyme inducer: induces glucuronosyltransferase activity in the endoplasmic reticulum of hepatocyte sliding surfaces and reduces serum unconjugated bilirubin. Adrenocorticotropic hormone: It can block antigen-antibody reaction and reduce hemolysis; and has the ability to promote the binding of bilirubin by hepatocyte glucuronosyltransferase. Although the above mentioned herbal and western medicine treatment, the most important thing is to clarify the cause of the baby’s jaundice, without a clear cause of treatment there is still a possibility of recurrence.
