When you first learn that you are pregnant, you usually do not need to go to the hospital for a checkup immediately if you do not have abdominal pain or vaginal bleeding. After the pregnancy is confirmed, it is usually more appropriate to have the 1st labor checkup about 40-50 days from the last menstrual period. If you go to the hospital too early for the checkup, you will not be able to find out the location of the pregnancy sac in the ultrasound because you are just pregnant. However, if you come to the hospital too late for the checkup, you may miss some important medical conditions, such as ectopic pregnancy, which may be misdiagnosed. If you have abdominal pain or vaginal bleeding after you have just found out that you are pregnant, you should come to the hospital as soon as possible for checkup because severe abdominal pain or vaginal bleeding is often indicative of miscarriage with aura or ectopic pregnancy. However, for ordinary pregnant women, if there is no discomfort, there is no need to come to the hospital immediately. In the early stages of pregnancy, you need to eat more fruits and vegetables rich in folic acid, avoid sex, and do not overwork.
