Milk has a high nutritional value and is rich in high quality protein and various trace elements. Milk can affect the absorption of drugs to a certain extent, especially after thyroidectomy, which may require long-term oral eugenol, and milk can affect the absorption and utilization of such drugs. At the same time, after thyroidectomy, patients are sometimes prone to hand and foot twitching and often hypocalcemia. Once hypocalcemia occurs, the intake of meat and dairy products should be limited because the phosphorus content in these foods will be higher, which will affect the absorption of calcium, thus aggravating hypocalcemia and the symptoms of postoperative hand and foot twitching. When post-operative thyroid patients have convulsions, give intravenous calcium gluconate while limiting milk intake. Those with mild symptoms can take oral calcium gluconate and, if necessary, vitamin D to promote calcium absorption in the intestine.
