Chuanxiong’s formula for knee pain

In Chinese medicine, knee pain is generally categorized as paralysis, crane’s knee wind, etc., and the common formulas containing Chuanxiong for treating paralysis are Coix Seed Soup, Double Harmony Soup, and Duo Wu Sheng Sheng Soup. 1. Coix Seed Soup: This medicine is mainly for knee pain, unfavorable joint movement, numbness and insensitivity of the skin, pale tongue, white and greasy moss, moistened pulse and other symptoms of wind-cold-dampness attack. Shuanghe Tang: This medicine is mainly used for knee pain caused by phlegm and stasis paralysis, which may be accompanied by symptoms such as sallow complexion, skin with interlacing nails (rough and dry skin like the interlacing of scales and nails of a dried fish), puffy eyelids, phlegm and chest tightness, and a dark purple tongue with petechiae or petechial spots and ecchymosis. The main medicines are Chuanxiong Xiong, Bai Shao, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Poria, Semixia and Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae. 3. Duhuo Sangsheng Tang: This medicine is mainly used for knee pain caused by insufficiency of the liver and kidneys, and may also be associated with impotence and spermatorrhea, dizziness and dizziness, tidal fever (a burst of heat, feeling that the heat is penetrating from inside the bones to the outside), flushing, heartburn, dryness of the mouth, insomnia, and redness of the tongue. Medicines include Chuanxiong, Duhuo, Xinxin, Fangfeng, Gentiana, Cinnamomum Cassia, and Sangmangsheng.
