Symptoms of nail psoriasis

Nail psoriasis, in which the lesions can extend to the nail area, is known as nail psoriasis. About 50% of patients with psoriasis have nail injuries, which manifest as punctate depressions on the nail plate, uneven nail plate, along with loss of luster, sometimes longitudinal grooves, transverse grooves, turbidity, hypertrophy, peeling of the free end from the nail bed or deformed absence of the entire nail plate, sometimes showing nail moss-like changes. If hormonal drugs are used, hyperadrenocorticism may appear, manifesting as hirsutism, acne, full-moon face, hypertension and other manifestations. There are also some people whose psoriasis starts from the nails, which can be cured as long as they do not use medication indiscriminately and do not use hormones as well as immune suppressants.
