The treatment of lung cancer is mainly a comprehensive treatment with surgery as the main treatment and radiotherapy as the supplement. When choosing the treatment plan, the patient’s general condition, clinical stage of lung cancer, pathological typing, and the presence of important combined diseases should be considered comprehensively. Surgery is preferred for non-small cell lung cancer, and chemotherapy is preferred for small cell lung cancer. 1.Surgical treatment: Surgery is the preferred method for radical treatment of lung cancer. For non-small cell lung cancer, except for some stage IIIb and IV, surgical treatment should be the main treatment or strive for surgical treatment. Radical resection is so far the only treatment that has the possibility to make lung cancer patients obtain clinical cure. Even for locally advanced lung cancer, other treatments can be used to reduce the size of the cancer lesion first, and then surgery can be sought. If the lesion is small in scope, the majority of patients’ survival can be prolonged with reasonable arrangement of comprehensive treatment after surgery. Early stage lung cancer patients, such as early stage Ia lung cancer, can be cured clinically through surgical procedures. In surgical treatment, more and more lung cancer cases can be treated by minimally invasive treatment, i.e. thoracoscopic or small incision method without cutting off muscles, which can also serve the purpose of radical resection and greatly reduce patients’ postoperative pain and also improve patients’ requirements for cosmetic treatment. 2.Chemotherapy: At present, chemotherapy of lung cancer in China has been connected with the international standard, and on the basis of the international standard drug for lung cancer chemotherapy, China has also formulated the standard guidelines for chemotherapy of small cell lung cancer and non-small cell lung cancer. Lung cancer chemotherapy is divided into first-line chemotherapy and second-line chemotherapy, which means that even if first-line chemotherapy fails, patients can switch to second-line chemotherapy regimen. 3.Radiotherapy: Radiotherapy is one of the commonly used methods for lung cancer treatment, however, the histological types of lung cancer differ, so do the effects of radiotherapy. Among them, the best sensitivity of radiotherapy for lung cancer is small cell lung cancer, followed by squamous lung cancer, while lung adenocarcinoma is the worst. 4.Targeted therapy: Targeted therapy drugs based on EGFR mutation detection, such as the imported drugs ERSA and Troche, and the domestic drug Kemena, are particularly beneficial for those middle-aged and elderly patients with advanced lung cancer who cannot tolerate chemotherapy. The latest information has supported the use of targeted therapeutic agents for first-line treatment.
