Women in their 6th month of pregnancy have painful contractions for induction of labor, which are tolerable for most people, with individuals feeling a lot of pain. If a woman needs to be induced in her 6th month of pregnancy, she will usually need to have medication injected into the uterine cavity, and contractions will begin to occur 36 to 48 hours later. Similar to normal labor, the contractions begin at short intervals, and then increase in duration and become shorter and shorter. Contractions are often accompanied by significant pain, the degree of which varies from person to person, with the majority of women being able to tolerate the pain while some women find it intolerable. The contractions will continue for some time after the delivery of the baby, but the pain will gradually decrease.
