What are the signs of developmental delays in children?

It is well known that each child has his or her own growth rate, but most children have similar growth progress. What should parents do when they suspect that their child’s growth is delayed? What are the main symptoms of common developmental delay? There are many types of developmental delay, and children with developmental delay may have the following symptoms: language disorders, motor disorders, and emotional and social disorders. 1, language development is delayed Language disorders are the most common developmental delay symptoms. There are many causes of language development disorders, including: problems with the tongue or palate, which can lead to vocalization and spitting difficulties; hearing problems: ear infections can lead to hearing impairment and thus language impairment; loss of learning ability; and developmental disorders, such as cerebral palsy and autism spectrum disorders. What should parents do? If you think your child’s speech development is delayed, tell your doctor immediately. Your doctor will test your child’s hearing or recommend specialized testing for speech delay. If the child is indeed delayed, then treatment will be needed. 2. Delayed motor development Some children are unable to move multiple muscles at the same time, such as playing ball. Sometimes this impairment is not due to lack of strength, but to poor coordination. In most cases, doctors cannot diagnose the cause of a child’s delayed motor development, but sometimes medical problems can cause the delay or make it worse, including: vision problems, movement disorders, dyskinesia, etc. So what should be done to help your child? For this developmental delay, doctors generally recommend that children get more exercise at home. Perhaps physical exercise therapy is also needed. 3. Delayed social and emotional development When a child has delayed social and emotional development, it is difficult to get along with adults or other children. In most cases, these problems will become apparent before the child starts school. The main cause of developmental delay is called autism spectrum disorder, which affects a child’s ability to express themselves, interact with others, behave and learn. Treatment for social and emotional developmental disorders depends on the triggering cause and the degree to which the child’s life is affected. The more promptly parents get their children treated, the shorter the time it will take to close the gap between their child and other children.
