How many weeks are twins usually born

Twin pregnancies usually need to be terminated before the due date (40 weeks), but the exact timing depends on the situation and cannot be generalized. Twin pregnancies are unique and the exact time of termination is related to the type of twin pregnancy. There are three broad types of twin pregnancies according to the different types of chorionic and amniotic membranes. The first type is double chorionic twin amniotic twins, i.e. two fetuses with two placentas and two amniotic sacs, which are less risky and recommended for termination at 38-39 weeks of gestation. The second type is single chorionic twin amniotic twin fetuses, i.e. two fetuses share one placenta, but the two fetuses are in two amniotic sacs without interfering with each other, and termination of pregnancy is recommended at 34-38 weeks of gestation. The third type is monochorionic single amniotic twin fetus, in which both fetuses share one placenta and live together in one amniotic sac, and termination of pregnancy at 32-34 weeks is recommended. The risk of twin pregnancy is higher than that of normal pregnancy, so pregnant women should actively seek medical advice and choose the right time to terminate the pregnancy according to the doctor’s assessment to avoid serious complications.
