Blood stasis can cause cerebral infarction. Blood stasis is a term used in Chinese medicine, which mainly refers to the slowing down of blood circulation, and in severe cases, stagnation of blood can develop into stroke. For the treatment of stroke in TCM, the main treatment is to activate blood stasis and pass through the ligaments. Blood stasis is capable of causing ischemic cerebrovascular disease. For ischemic cerebrovascular disease, the patient is mostly due to atherosclerosis and poor vascular elasticity causing slowing down of blood flow, and in severe cases, occlusion of blood vessels, which is called blood stasis in Chinese medicine. In the acute stage of cerebral infarction caused by blood stasis, patients can be given dehydration to lower the cranial pressure, along with anti-platelet aggregation to reduce blood stagnation, and if necessary, anticoagulation or lowering fibrinogen in blood can be applied to promote blood circulation to treat cerebral infarction.
