What is the best treatment for brain tumors?

There are many types of brain tumors, such as gliomas, meningiomas, pituitary tumors, etc., with different treatment modalities, which mainly include surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
1. Glioma: low-grade astrocytomas are mainly treated by surgical resection, and those who have not complete resection of the tumor should be treated with postoperative adjuvant radiotherapy; high-grade astrocytomas have a high degree of malignancy, and the standard treatment plan is combined with surgery and radiotherapy plus temozolomide synchronous chemotherapy.
2. Meningioma: most of the meningiomas are benign, surgical resection is preferred for symptomatic patients, and most of them can be cured. A small number of patients with small tumor size and asymptomatic can also be temporarily observed and followed up with regular review of MRI.
3. Pituitary tumors: Pituitary tumors with no compression symptoms and no function can be followed up for observation and regular review, while symptomatic pituitary tumors are mainly treated by surgery. Prolactin cell tumor patients preferred drug treatment, such as bromocriptine. Postoperative radiotherapy can also be performed for those who fail to remove the tumor completely.
In addition to the above tumor types, brain tumors also include craniopharyngioma, acoustic neuroma, brain metastases, ventricular meningioma, etc. Different treatments can be chosen according to the patient’s condition, and it is recommended to go to the hospital as soon as possible to formulate a reasonable treatment plan under the guidance of a professional doctor.
