Epilepsy treatment need not be far away

Epilepsy, commonly known as “goat’s horn” or “sow’s madness,” is a common disorder that affects the daily lives of thousands of patients and their relatives. Previously, epilepsy was treated in neurology, and for a long time, physicians devoted a great deal of effort to the pharmacological treatment of epilepsy, with little success in some patients, and surgical procedures were needed to hopefully cure it. With the development and investment in large equipment and the development of EEG monitoring technology, Chongqing is now able to track the cause of seizures and then surgically remove the epileptogenic focus to completely eradicate this persistent disease. The Epilepsy Diagnostic and Treatment Center of Daping Hospital, which integrates multidisciplinary professionals from neurosurgery, neurology, and neuroimaging, has kept abreast of the world’s frontiers in terms of treatment concepts and methods, and has treated nearly 1,000 cases of epileptic patients in the past five years, gaining universal recognition and trust from colleagues and patients at home and abroad.
