Exercises to restore ankle function

Exercises for ankle joint function recovery mainly include joint mobility exercises, ankle joint strength exercises, exercises using rubber bands and so on.
1. Joint mobility exercises: including ankle dorsiflexion and plantarflexion, ankle inversion and eversion, and ankle rotation.
2. Exercises for ankle joint strength: including towel rolling (flexors and extensors of the toes and foot), towel inversion and eversion (inversion and eversion muscle groups of the ankle joint and foot), heel lift (gastrocnemius and soleus), toe lift (ankle dorsiflexors), and so on.
3. Exercises using rubber bands: e.g. resisted dorsiflexion exercises, resisted plantarflexion exercises, resisted inversion exercises, resisted eversion exercises, etc.
Exercises should be carried out accordingly under the doctor’s guidance according to one’s own recovery situation.
