The effect of semen zinc on sperm quality is great. Zinc is an important trace element necessary for the human body, it serves as a cofactor for more than a hundred enzymes in the body and is closely related to the metabolic function of the reproductive system. The zinc content in the semen of normal men is generally about 4.38 mmol/L, and its zinc content is more than 100 times that of plasma zinc. Studies have concluded that spermatogenesis is also more active when the zinc content in the male reproductive tract is high. Clinical studies have shown that nearly half of the male infertility cases have semen zinc levels below 0.17 mmol/L. It is inferred that low zinc is one of the causes of male infertility.
