What water is good for gout

Gout patients try to drink mainly plain water, but they can also choose small-molecule weak alkaline water for drinking. Increasing water consumption can reduce blood uric acid levels and decrease the number of recurrent gout attacks. If urination increases, it can promote the excretion of uric acid by the kidneys, which in turn reduces the deposition of urate crystals. If the patient has no contraindications such as kidney disease or heart failure, it is recommended to drink about 2L of water daily. A urine pH between 6.3-6.8 is more conducive to uric acid excretion, thus reducing the formation of urate crystals. Therefore, patients can drink weak alkaline small molecule water, and also lemon water, such as adding lemon slices to water, which also helps uric acid excretion and improves the symptoms of gout.
