How is Crohn’s disease screened?

1.What departments should I see if I have Crohn’s disease? Gastroenterology, general surgery, anorectology, nutrition. 2.What basic tests should be done for Crohn’s disease? Blood sampling: C-reactive protein, blood sedimentation (to observe the level of activity), blood biochemistry. Stool routine (occult blood); colonoscopy: often through colonoscopy to observe the degree of colorectal and terminal ileal mucosal lesions, some patients with Crohn’s disease of small intestine even need to be observed through small intestine microscopy, capsule endoscopy. Abdominal CT: The contrast agents such as oral pantethine and mannitol are used to highlight the intestinal wall and observe the degree of stenosis, mucosal thickness and other indicators of the diseased intestinal canal. For patients with intestinal stenosis, incomplete intestinal obstruction, perforation and intestinal fistula, abdominal plain, gastrointestinal tract imaging, sinus tract imaging and barium enema should also be considered as appropriate. 3.Why should I do colonoscopy? Colonoscopy is a flexible instrument that the doctor can use to insert through the anus into the colon to the terminal ileum to see if there is inflammation in these areas and how much. Through these instruments, the doctor can look for inflammation, bleeding or ulcers in the intestinal wall and determine the extent of the lesions. During the examination, the doctor can also take a biopsy and send it to a pathologist for further examination to distinguish Crohn’s disease from other diseases that can cause rectal bleeding, such as ulcerative colitis, diverticula and cancer. 4.Is it painful to have a colonoscopy and is there a painless colonoscopy? If a painful colonoscopy is done, that is, the patient himself remains awake during the colonoscopy, due to the need to properly inflate the intestinal cavity, the patient often feels bloated and partly unbearable. Painless colonoscopy has been popularized in major hospitals in China, which is suitable for patients with normal cardiovascular and cerebrovascular status, no history of anesthetic allergy and can tolerate general anesthesia. 5.How much do colonoscopy and CT tests cost? The fees for these examinations vary from hospital to hospital, but the difference is not great. Colonoscopy is about 500-2000 RMB, CT scan is about 1000-2000 RMB. 6. No. Painless colonoscopy is to use some anesthetic drugs to make the patient unconscious and to reduce pain. Generally speaking, these anesthetic drugs are short-acting and will be metabolized by the body soon, so they will not accumulate in the body and cause any harm. However, patients of advanced age, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular pathology, history of allergy to anesthetic drugs, and recent gastrointestinal surgery should consult with anesthesiologists and consider at their discretion. 7.What is the difference between small colonoscopy, colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy and what is the price? For most patients with Crohn’s disease, colonoscopy is able to observe most of the lesions because they often occur in the terminal ileum and colon. When the lesions involve the small intestine or even the upper gastrointestinal tract, it is difficult to observe the lesions with colonoscopy, and small intestine or even capsule endoscopy is needed to observe the lesions. The price of examination varies from place to place, with colonoscopy (painful) costing about 200-500 RMB/time, colonoscopy (painless) costing about 1200 RMB/time, small colonoscopy about 3000-6000 RMB/time, and capsule endoscopy about 8000 RMB/time.
