1.Surgical treatment Surgery for liver cancer has the best efficacy for early stage patients, data show that early stage small liver cancer has the best efficacy of surgical resection, and the 5-year survival rate after surgery can reach 66.3%. The survival rate of large hepatocellular carcinoma has also improved significantly in recent years, and its 5-year survival rate has increased from 10% to 31%; while the efficacy of surgery for middle and late stage hepatocellular carcinoma is poor. As a local treatment for liver cancer, the purpose of surgery is to completely remove the primary lung cancer and local metastatic lymph nodes and eradicate the cancer cell base to prolong the survival of patients. Therefore, the target of surgery should have no distant metastasis and limited local invasion. Whether to perform surgery or not should be decided by physicians according to the lesion scope and stage of disease, and should not be forced. 2.Drug therapy The treatment of advanced liver cancer depends on drug therapy, which mainly includes traditional Chinese medicine and chemotherapy. Chemotherapy has a more direct therapeutic effect on advanced liver cancer, which can shrink the tumor and reduce the symptoms to a certain extent, but clinical statistics show that the effect of treatment with chemical drugs alone is not ideal for advanced liver cancer patients. Although it can improve the symptoms and prolong the survival period in the short term, the long-term effect is not good. 3.Conservative treatment Systemic conservative treatment with TCM is not as direct as chemotherapy in the short term, but it has obvious effects in improving the quality of survival and prolonging the survival period. Some data show that the treatment of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma is better in Chinese medicine group than in chemotherapy group. The 1-year survival rates of treatment with cetepe and fluorouracil were 8.9% and 9.9%, respectively, while the 1-year survival rate of the herbal medicine treatment group was 38.7%. Therefore, choosing the appropriate treatment method is extremely important for how long one can live with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma.
