If the patient’s left eye is high and the right eye is low, it is mostly caused by vertical strabismus. If the patient’s strabismus is small, the patient can be corrected by wearing a trephine, but if the patient’s strabismus is large, the patient can be corrected by surgery to improve the discomfort.
Vertical strabismus is caused by asymmetry in the eye position of both eyes, which may result in inconsistency in the direction of vision between the two eyes, and the patient may experience discomfort such as double vision. After examination, if the patient’s strabismus is low, he or she can wear a prism to correct the strabismus, thereby balancing the eye position and improving the patient’s appearance.
If the patient’s vertical strabismus is large, surgical treatment, such as extraocular muscle strengthening or extraocular muscle reduction, can be performed to correct the strabismus and alleviate eye discomfort.
It is recommended that patients with strabismus consult a doctor to evaluate their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions to choose the appropriate treatment.
