Sinusitis is a common and frequent disease, called nasal abyss in Chinese medicine, and is clinically acute or chronic. Acute purulent sinusitis is secondary to incomplete treatment of colds. Chronic purulent sinusitis is mostly caused by repeated episodes of acute purulent sinusitis not completely cured and delayed. The common symptoms of sinusitis are mental incompetence, easy tiredness, dizziness, memory loss, and in children, inattention and hyperactivity. Local symptoms are common (1) more pus (2) nasal congestion (3) accompanied by headache, which is mostly temporal or fixed site, mostly heavy during the day and light at night (4) reduced or absent sense of smell; (5) visual impairment. Coronal CT scan of the sinuses shows. There is a high-density shadow of soft tissue in the sinuses, etc., so the diagnosis can be confirmed. Clinically, anyone who has a cold that lasts for a week, with no reduction or even an increase in pus, as well as an increase in systemic symptoms, should consider whether he has sinusitis. In children who have no cold symptoms but have runny nose for years, or who have no symptoms of nasal congestion or runny nose but have headache, dizziness, memory loss, or drowsiness, sinusitis should also be considered. Once the diagnosis of sinusitis is confirmed by CT scan, timely and early treatment should be made under the guidance of a doctor. Otherwise, the delay in treatment will lead to aggravation and recurrence of the disease, which is not easily cured even with surgical treatment. In the light case, it will cause nasal congestion, headache and other recurrent attacks, which will affect normal life, work and study; in the heavy case, the lesion will invade the sinus bone or even cause sinus cancer, which will be life-threatening. The treatment of sinusitis in our department adopts comprehensive therapy, that is, the combination of Chinese and Western medicine, supplemented by nasal negative pressure replacement method or maxillary sinus puncture rinse method, with the new treatment of self-designed Chinese medicine soup through the nasal cavity nebulizer inhalation treatment, and then external use of our homemade nasal oil drops to lubricate the nasal cavity, anti-inflammatory pain, nasal mucosa protection, while oral Chinese medicine preparations, with appropriate antibiotic treatment, internal and external use, complement each other. Negative nasal pressure replacement pus absorption method, simple and easy, safe and painless, adapted to frontal sinusitis, sieve sinusitis and pterion sinusitis, most suitable for chronic purulent total sinusitis, 3 to 7 years old children preferred this method. Sinus puncture method is only suitable for patients with maxillary sinusitis and is painful, and it is not recommended for children under 8 years of age. Chinese herbal tonics nebulization treatment allows the drug to come into direct contact with the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity, facilitating the absorption of the sinuses and maximizing its antibacterial and antiviral pharmacological effects, with significant effects and without any side effects. It can prevent respiratory infectious diseases, reduce or prevent cold and flu epidemics, and improve the body’s ability to resist diseases. If you are a child over the age of 13, you can consider surgery if your condition does not improve significantly with conservative treatment or if you are an adult with recurrent sinusitis. Sinusitis is not easily cured, but must also be treated in a timely manner. The treatment at the same time should prohibit spicy, greasy and dry products or quit smoking and drinking more plain water. Especially for children, try not to swim or dive, and do not blow your nose forcefully to avoid ear disorders. Prevention of colds is the key to this disease.
