The 2008 Chinese epidemiological survey showed that the prevalence of psoriasis in China is 0.47%, but there is no obvious gender difference between men and women in a comprehensive view. It may be due to the fact that male patients smoke more, are alcoholic and so on, and clinically there seems to be more incidence in male patients. Psoriasis is an immune-mediated chronic recurrent inflammatory systemic disease whose main clinical manifestations include erythema, papules, and scaling. Most patients have relapses or exacerbations in winter with remission in summer. There may be a correlation between certain patients with psoriasis and cardiovascular disease, which means that patients at risk for cardiovascular disease have a higher probability of developing psoriasis.
