Toothpaste rubbing is not recommended for hemorrhoids. Toothpaste has a cooling effect, and if the hemorrhoid has local swelling and pain symptoms, using toothpaste may reduce the local swelling and pain symptoms, but it does not help in any way with the treatment of hemorrhoids. Patients with hemorrhoid symptoms are not advised to use toothpaste for external rubbing to avoid delaying treatment and making the relatively mild hemorrhoid develop into a serious one, leading to some serious consequences. Patients with hemorrhoids are still advised to go to a regular hospital, see an anorectal specialist for an examination and take regular treatment. If the hemorrhoids cannot be controlled by conservative treatment with medication, the patient needs to undergo surgery in time so that the hemorrhoids do not continue to worsen and increase the difficulty of surgery later. Some even serious hemorrhoids can lead to a single surgery that does not completely improve the symptoms and requires more than two surgeries.
