Lung cancer can be cured by surgery at what stage

Generally speaking, the cure rate of lung cancer is higher when it is in stage I. However, due to large individual differences, the specific cure rate needs to be determined according to the actual situation. Lung cancer refers to primary malignant tumor of lungs, with insidious clinical symptoms, mainly manifested as cough, hemoptysis, emaciation and so on. Lung cancer can be classified into stage Ⅰ (early stage), stage Ⅱ (middle stage), stage Ⅲ (middle-late stage) and stage Ⅳ (late stage) according to the progress of the disease. Normally, early stage lung cancer patients can have a high cure rate through comprehensive treatments such as surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and medication and the five-year survival rate of early stage non-small-cell lung cancer patients can be up to 75%, while the five-year survival rate of small-cell lung cancer patients is about 45%. However, the cure rate of middle and late stage lung cancer is lower, and patients can improve the quality of life and prolong the survival cycle through standardized treatment. Patients are advised to keep a good mindset, actively cooperate with doctors for treatment, and strictly quit smoking.
