A high cytomegalovirus IgG generally indicates a previous infection. Cytomegalovirus is a common virus, and infection may result in upper respiratory tract-like symptoms such as fever, cough, sputum, enlarged lymph nodes, pharyngitis, etc. It may also show elevated white blood cells and elevated lymphocytes. There are two main types of antibodies used to detect cytomegalovirus in clinical practice, one is IgG antibody and the other is IgM antibody. Positive IgG antibody indicates a previous infection, but now it has been cured, if there are no clinical symptoms, there is no need for treatment. positive IgM antibody indicates a recent infection with cytomegalovirus, and the DNA of the cytomegalovirus can be perfected, if the DNA is positive and there are clinical symptoms, then antiviral treatment can be considered. In these cases, it is recommended that the patient go to the hospital immediately for consultation and active treatment.
