What do burn patients need to know about their diet?

What are fluids, semi-fluids, soft foods, and regular foods? What kind of burn patients are they suitable for? Most of the post-burn patients have different degrees of gastrointestinal dysfunction, poor appetite or inability to eat, according to different conditions to choose different types of diet: (1) fluid diet: that is, liquid food, such as milk, soybean milk, a variety of soups (chicken, duck, fish soup, pork rib soup). Its usage is: 6~7 times a day, every 2~4 hours, 200~300ml each time, and the total calories should be 1200~1400 kcal. It is suitable for patients with large burn shock period, inhalation injury and peroral surgery. (2) Semi-fluid diet: that is, semi-fluid state food, less fiber, nutrient-rich easy to chew and swallow. Such as porridge, noodles, wontons, steamed eggs, tofu and so on. Its use is: 5 times a day, total daily calories 2300 kcal. It is suitable for patients with inhalation injury, tracheotomy, fever, and postoperative period. (3) soft diet: i.e. soft, rotten food, easy to swallow and digest, such as soft rice, noodles, meat and vegetables evenly chopped and boiled. Its usage is: 3 times a day, total calories 2400 kcal. Suitable for the old and young, indigestion, chewing or swallowing difficulties, postoperative recovery patients. (4) Ordinary diet: i.e. easily digestible and non-stimulating food. Its usage is: 3 times a day, total calories 2400 kcal. It is suitable for patients with ° burns on the limbs and trunk, and less severe conditions without fever.
