Small lung nodules usually do not heal on their own. Lung nodules are focal, roundish shadows on the lungs that are less than 1cm in size. Lung nodules can be caused by many factors, such as smoking, environmental pollution, inflammation, infection, tumor and so on. If the lung nodules are caused by infection, they may shrink or even disappear after active anti-infection treatment, but generally will not be cured by themselves. The larger the lung nodule, the higher the possibility of malignancy, especially for nodules over 8mm. If small lung nodules are found, it is recommended to identify the cause of the disease. If they are caused by infections, anti-infection treatment can be actively pursued. For other benign nodules, you can go to the hospital regularly for review and observe the changes of the nodules. For malignant nodules, surgery is recommended.
