He came to our department for inpatient treatment because he had left hip pain with no obvious reason, which was persistent and ineffective with local plaster and acupuncture treatment. After admission, CT and MRI of the lumbar spine showed: lumbar 4-5 and lumbar 5-sacral 1 intervertebral bulge; the rest did not show any abnormality. No positive signs were found on physical examination. After giving poor treatment to the left hip, the lumbar spine was given arc-blade acupuncture combined with sacral canal impact treatment, the symptoms improved, and the left hip pain disappeared after 2 times. Discussion:Most lumbar disc herniation manifests as lumbar pain with radiating pain and discomfort in the lower extremities, but some of them are not so obvious, with no obvious discomfort in the lumbar region and only local symptoms in the lower extremities, such as simple thumb pain, calf soreness, hip pain, etc. In this case, it is mainly considered that the patient had a heavy deep lumbar strain after prolonged sitting, which provoked the sciatic nerve root and appeared but simple hip pain symptoms.
