Can Gastric Carcinoma in Situ Recur After Surgery?

Gastric carcinoma in situ may recur after surgery, but the possibility of recurrence is relatively small.
Compared with other malignant tumors, carcinoma in situ has more limited lesions, usually confined to tumors in the mucosal layer or submucosal layer. If gastric carcinoma in situ is treated with surgery at an early stage, the surgical resection is relatively clean and will not lead to tissue residue in the local tumor. Although there is still a certain possibility of recurrence of the tumor, the possibility of recurrence is relatively small.
After surgery for gastric carcinoma in situ, one should go to the hospital regularly for review of gastroscopy in order to find out the signs of tumor recurrence at an early stage. In addition, one should pay attention to lifestyle management after surgery, avoid eating spicy and stimulating food as much as possible, and cooperate with doctor to take treatment as early as possible if there is any gastric disease.
