What does testosterone supplementation for androgens look like

Androgen supplementation is very important in the treatment of patients with hypogonadism due to serum testosterone deficiency. We should not forget that there are also these daily monitoring follow-up plans along with the medication. 1.General check-up: assess the efficacy and side effects of the drugs in the 3rd and 6th month after starting the treatment, and if stable, once a year thereafter; check the drug component-specific side effects. 2.Testosterone concentration: according to the reference value of each hospital (laboratory), adjust the drug dose to maintain the serum testosterone concentration at moderately normal level. 3.Rectal examination: review 3-6 months after the start of treatment, and once a year thereafter; if prostate nodules are found, treatment should be stopped. 4. PSA concentration: review 3-6 months after the start of treatment and once a year thereafter; if PSA increases >1.4 ng/ml in 1 year or the rate of increase >0.4 ng/ml/year, stop treatment and evaluate further. 5.Lower urinary tract symptoms (urinary frequency and urgency, painful urination, etc.): If International Prostate Symptom Score IPSS>19, stop treatment and evaluate further. 6. Erythrocyte pressure: review 3-6 months after the start of treatment and once a year thereafter; if Erythrocyte pressure > 54%, stop treatment and evaluate further. If it is elevated and then reduced to normal, treatment can be restarted from a small dose. 7.Sleep apnea: assess snoring, daytime sleepiness and other symptoms. 8.Bone density: check isotope bone scan if there is minor post-traumatic fracture, osteoporosis, shortening of height, etc. and review every 1-2 years.
