Love of beauty is the nature of women, beauty is destined to be the constant melody in the season of women’s life. One of the most important signs of female charm is physical beauty, female charm depends on physical beauty to reflect, this is a female magic treasure and source of happiness, is the root of female beauty. Breast is the representative of female body beauty. Since ancient times, breasts are the symbol of female beauty, and full and healthy breasts are the best reflection of female charm. However, the incidence of breast cancer has been on the rise in recent years, and in 2014, breast cancer has become the first malignant tumor among women in Shanghai. The breast deformity and asymmetry caused by radical breast cancer treatment destroys the patient’s body shape and directly affects the physical and psychological health of women and their interpersonal communication in family and society. Cancer treatment leaves not only physical scars, but also psychological, spiritual and emotional scars. Currently some post-operative breast cancer patients choose to wear special bras (prosthesis, external breast implants), but once the bra is removed, patients still have to face the deformed appearance. Moreover, there are many clothes that cannot be worn with this special bra. It is also inconvenient to wear a swimsuit, not to go to public pools, and not to go on a beach vacation. In addition, you can’t do strenuous exercises with this special bra. Since the implant is not breathable, it will cause discomfort to the breast in summer. Now, all these problems can be solved by breast reconstruction surgery. On December 18, 2015, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) announced that Congress passed the “Breast Cancer Patient Education Act”. In China, breast cancer patients are even less knowledgeable, and even some breast surgeons are not well informed in areas where medical care is not very advanced. Therefore, as a member of the Plastic Surgery Department of the Ninth Hospital, the largest plastic surgery center in China, I feel that I have a great responsibility not only to do a good job in every surgery, but also to spread the latest knowledge of breast reconstruction to serve the majority of breast cancer patients in China.
